What Doctors and Nutritionists
Say About Dish Diet™

The Dish Diet™ weight-loss system is based on the latest scientific research and is recommended by health professionals.

A message from Dr. Melissa Milan:

Like most clinicians, I have grown increasingly concerned about the growing size of the average American waistline. People who are overweight or obese are at increased risk for a multitude of health problems including; heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, arthritis-related disabilities and some types of cancer. Ironically, the rise in dimension of the American waistline over the last two decades has paralleled the increasing number of "diets" on the market; each one asserting to be the solution to the growing obesity epidemic.

As a physician with a strong background in the fitness industry, I have witnessed firsthand the ease with which patients have regained weight that was lost on diets that claimed to quickly "melt away the pounds." The rapid caloric restrictions that are encouraged on most diets and the feelings of deprivation that follow are not sustainable over the long term.

Unfortunately, there is no "quick fix" to good health. Being healthy requires a lifelong commitment to healthful lifestyle behaviors, consisting of both sustainable eating practices and daily physical activity.

The supersizing of the American food industry has led to widespread "portion distortion"; we have grown so accustomed to massive portion sizes that we have redefined the term, "serving size." Healthy eating requires a renewed awareness of proper portion size.

The "Dish Diet™" is an innovative new weight management plan that is specifically designed to make your weight loss sustainable. This program teaches proper portion control and how to make better food choices, yielding lasting lifestyle changes rather than quick weight loss that will soon return. This is a refreshing concept that is well-aligned with current public health initiatives that aim to reduce the burden of lifestyle-related health conditions.

In contrast to most major commercial weight loss products on the market, the Dish Diet™ is supported by solid scientific evidence. Research has shown that Americans often underestimate their daily caloric intake by as much as 25%. The Dish Diet™ helps to reset these estimates by using dishware size as a visual guide. A recent study that compared the weight loss of diabetics using portion control dishes found that individuals using the portion control dishes lost 4% more weight than those using other weight control methods.

The Dish Diet™ is appropriate for use by your whole family, including both children and diabetics. In fact, some studies indicate that teaching proper portion control to children may be the best way to prevent the onset of obesity.

The Dish Diet™ dishware can accommodate all of your favorite recipes. And above all, the Dish Diet™ is practical and easy to follow; you won't have to spend time and effort obsessing about the number of points or calories in a particular food. Instead, your dishware will serve as your guide for measuring food portions. The Dish Diet™ offers a practical and easy way to learn healthy eating behaviors that yield lasting and sustainable results. The Dish Diet™ will put you on the track to achieve a healthier and thinner you!
